Richard Haffke founded his firm in 1909 in Dresden, Germany. He employed painters and developed his own workshop for frames and fine jewelry boxes which were styled according to not only the old masters but also to his own ideas and designs.
Today, the traditional workshop and company offices are located near Munich and are run by the Armbruster family. Beautiful designs in old European styles combined with high quality materials are valued traditions in Haffke’s company history.

The collection of different items made of bronze, crystal and mammoth ivory manufactured by skilled and experienced craftsmen is very unique.
Haffke is the only manufacturer of this kind who has been able to maintain the dedication to these traditions.

Polished strips of plain bronze are fed through special rollers, each of which is covered with different designs. These rollers press the given design into the bronze strips which are then bent and soldered to create the picture frame, jewelry box or bronze fitting for the crystal. The finished picture frame is then either decorated with enamel in different colors which is inlaid by hand, or with applications of decorative pressings to give the frame its final touch. The resulting products are treated to appear naturally antique although their special finish will never change.

The products require no special care. If necessary, dust with a soft, dry cloth. Never use polishing creams or harsh chemicals as this will destroy the finish of these products and cause them to oxidate.
